Safety Requirements for RailsConf 2022

Last updated: April 26, 2022

Vaccination/Testing Requirements

We have partnered with SafeAccess, a RailsConf 2022 sponsor, to manage documentation of your vaccination status and covid test information. Prior to the conference, you will be receiving an email from no-reply@live.safeaccess.app with instructions on setting up your account in SafeAccess.

At the conference

To participate in the conference and obtain your entrance credentials, your vaccine documentation and negative test results must be uploaded to SafeAccess.

Once SafeAccess accepts the documentation, you will receive email verification, and your account will display a green badge permitting access to RailsConf 2022. Show this green badge at registration to obtain your entrance credentials.

Registration begins on Tuesday, May 17, at 7:30 am at the Oregon Convention Center.

Vaccination Documentation

Once you set up your SafeAccess account, you will upload your proof of vaccination. You can screenshot an electronic form or take a photo of a CDC-issued vaccination card. The vaccination card or digital record of your vaccination includes your name, the type of vaccination provided, and the date that the last dose was administered. **For our trans attendees, we will consider the chosen and dead names.

We are following the vaccination guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). An individual is fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. If you are arriving from outside the United States, proof of your country’s approved vaccine should be uploaded. If you are eligible, we highly encourage obtaining a booster vaccine dose.

Please upload your proof of vaccination as soon as you receive your email from SafeAccess and set up your account.

Covid Test Documentation

We require that you produce the results of a negative PCR test with the swab taken no earlier than the Friday before the conference, May 13. If you are arriving from outside the United States, please provide a negative test of your country’s equivalent to the PCR. As soon as you receive the test results, upload the documentation to your SafeAccess account.

If you contracted Covid-19 between February 6, 2022 and May 7, 2022, your PCR test may show as positive. If you had a positive Covid-19 test result from that period, you must produce a negative verified rapid antigen test with the swab taken on May 16 or May 17. You can take a test at the Curative testing facility located at the convention center and then upload the test results to SafeAccess. Other options include taking the test at a facility near home before leaving for the conference, at the airport test facility or taking a test with online observation and verification. Please upload your negative test results to SafeAccess as soon as you receive them.

If you contracted Covid-19 after May 7, 2022, you will be unable to join us in person for the conference. You can receive a refund for your RailsConf conference registration by completing our Ticket Change Form. And, we welcome you to sign up for RailsConf 2022: Home Edition.

Face Mask Reminder

All attendees and participants at RailsConf are required to wear face masks while indoors or when they cannot distance outdoors. Attendees and participants are asked to remove their masks only when eating and, when doing so, distance themselves from others by at least six feet. Appropriate masks include N95, KF95, and KN95 masks worn over the mouth and nose. We will also have extra masks available for everyone at the conference.
